FORT MYERS, Fla. ( Jan. 30, 2023) – Florida National University’s softball team hit some early season adversity falling to the Florida Southwestern State College Buccaneers 10-0 in five innings.
The Buccaneers came into the contest off to a hot start, winning three out of four games last week to open their hopes to three-peat as NJCAA National Champions. FSW is ranked No. 1 in the country and wasted no time getting another big win over the USCAA’s title holders.
Despite giving up 10 runs, FNU only allowed one homer for a three-run score as pitchers Dakota Kulis and Jona Goolsby both took centerfield during the contest.
FSW’s pitching was elite, as the Buccaneers allowed no hits while FNU got three walks along with three runners left on base by the end of the contest.
