Florida National University partners with organizations to prevent child abductions via awareness rally
In honor of National Missing Children’s Day, Florida National University (FNU), Missing Children’s Global Network, Dr. Jose Regueiro Scholarship Foundation INC, and other key entities, will be hosting a Missing Children’s Prevention Rally on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. The event will be held at FNU’s Hialeah Campus, located at 4425 W. Jose Regueiro (20th) Avenue, Hialeah, Florida 33012.
The purpose of this event is to educate the public on how to keep their children safe from abductions, and what to do if their child should go missing. The rally is a community service event, and therefore, it is free and open to the public.
“The aim of the Missing Children’s Prevention Rally is to inform, educate, and alert our communities on key prevention strategies,” said Ms. Rachel Tourgeman, FNU Community Relations Director.
Parents and guardians should bring their children. The Florida State Attorney’s Justice in Motion (JIM Bus) will be actively fingerprinting your children on site, and providing valuable information on child safety.
FNU suggests the residents come and hear from panelists that have been directly affected by the devastating atrocity of abductions. The Missing Children’s Prevention Rally will showcase a very distinguished panel of experts in the field of child abduction and prevention: Mr. Carlos Aguilar from the Christian Aguilar Search & Rescue Foundation, Mr. Patrick Sessions from the Tiffany Sessions Project, Mr. Fernando Alvarez and Mr. Miguel Inda-Romero from Missing Children Global Network, Ms. Alison Dolan from A Safe Haven for Newborns, and Mr. David Vega, Esq.
Collaborating partners are the State Attorney’s Office, Public Defenders Office, Missing Children’s Global Network, A Safe Haven for Newborns, Voice of Love, Law Offices of Miguel Inda-Romero, Drakonx, Bill Perry Private Eyes, Toys for Kids Miami, Amerigroup, and the City of Hialeah Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
