HIALEAH, FL – January 26, 2015– Florida National University (FNU) and the FNU Conquistadors – South Florida’s newest men’s college basketball team – will host the Battle Against Cancer FNU Showcase benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital©. The University will match dollar for dollar in donations for the hospital. Donations raised will help St. Jude continue to find cures and save children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
From February 11th – 15th, the FNU Conquistadors will host the Battle Against Cancer FNU Showcase featuring basketball teams from the Caribbean and the Virgin Islands. Admission is free to the public. The FNU Showcase will be held at Bucky Dent Gym located at 2250 W. 60th Street in Hialeah, Florida.

Scott Schmidt, FNU athletic director/Men’s Basketball head coach said, “I think the showcase will be a great way to help raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as a great way for the South Florida community to attend three exciting games of college basketball.”
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Because of events like this, no families ever receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.
