HIALEAH, Fla. ( Nov. 14, 2022) – The Conquistadors once again punched their tickets to the NAIA Men’s Soccer Championships after defeating RV Viterbo University in the Continental Athletic Conference Championship semifinals on November 11. FNU’s Marcos Bakale, Arthur Barbosa and Vinicius Mallmann were named to the CAC All-Tournament team following the Conqusitadors’ 1-0 loss to Bellevue in the final the next day.
Bakale had FNU’s lone goal for the tournament, launching a beautiful shot outside the penalty area that sent the Conquistadors to the final. Bakale is the leading scorer for FNU with four goals this season.
As team captain, Mallmann has been the glue of FNU’s midfield. His ability to read the field and display a veteran presence on the field has pushed FNU past tough opponents this season.
Barbosa had a solid tournament run and was a major contributor to FNU’s play in the title match and the semifinal victory.
