Grotz is a former Esports competitor at Florida Southern College.
HIALEAH, Fla. (July 19, 2023) – Florida National University hired Kyler Grotz as its Esports head coach. Grotz is the first Esports head coach in FNU’s history and enters his first year at the helm of the program with over two years of experience in the field of competitive electronic gaming.
“I am excited to take on this role,” Grotz said. “I want to leave a lasting positive impact on the FNU and Hialeah communities.”
Before joining FNU, Grotz was an Esports competitor specializing in Overwatch for the Florida Southern College Mocs. Notably, Grotz participated in and won competitions against Texas A&M and Baldwin Wallace. He also worked as a research intern for the Sports and Fitness Industry Association.
Grotz graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida Southern with a minor in Esports Management in 2023. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Florida Southern in Esports Management.
A native of Augusta, Ga., Grotz resides in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
