BOCA RATON, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2023) – Florida National University’s women’s tennis team fell to the talented NCAA DII Lynn University Knights. The Conquistadors (0-4) remain winless in 2023, facing tough competition in both doubles and singles matches while on the road in Boca Raton, Fla. The Knights (3-1) are a powerhouse stacked with talent that looks prime to make a deep run in their postseason endeavors.
FNU once again could not get their hands on the opening doubles point, as duo Karyna Krykunenko and Pirada Suwanruk were unable to finish their match. Vanessa Simone and Simone Sierra fell to Knight partners Giorgia Pigato and Dolores Molina, 0-6. Paulina Jankuh and Emerald Cooke lost their match 3-6 as FNU looked to gain some points in singles play.
The Knights dominated singles play, as FNU’s Vera Hoekstra was defeated by Salma Djoubri, 0-6, 1-6. Vanessa Simone and Pirada Suwanruk lost their matches 0-6, 1-6 and 2-6, 1-6, respectively.
