OKEEHEELEE PARK, Fla. (September 3, 2022) – Florida National’s cross country team had a strong showing at the Keiser Flagship Invitational, with four runners posting a personal best and FNU’s 5k record was broken for the second week in a row.
FNU men’s team notables: David Bellefleur once again posted a school record in the 5K with a time of 16:44.7, nine seconds better than his time at the Bobcat Invitational. The sophomore finished in eighth place. Leon Kipkoech recorded a personal best in the 5k with a time of 18:37.2 for a twentieth-place finish. Roger Guardiola followed in his teammates’ footsteps and posted a college personal best with a time of 19:37.6 and finished in twenty-eighth place.
FNU women’s team notables: Maryam Abreu’s personal best time in the 5k of 20:18.0 landed her as the top finisher for FNU in seventh place. Daryl Quichimbo had the second-best finish for FNU’s women’s cross country team with a time of 22:25.6.
