FNU MEN’S SOCCER SUFFERS TOUGH LOSS ON THE ROAD

FNU Soccer player dribbling the ballTHOMASVILLE, GA. – The Florida National University men’s soccer team allowed three goals in the second half of the game against Thomas University and suffered a tough 3-0 loss on the road. the game was played on Wednesday (Oct. 23) at the TU Soccer Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • FNU outshot TU 8-1 in the first half, but Thomas made the most of its six shots in the second period, scoring three goals.
  • Mateo Arbelaez sent a ball over the top, which was finished by Salvador Marin for TU’s first goal at 53:00.
  • Gavin Rochford-Smith then put a penalty kick in the back of the net for Thomas’ second goal of the game and his 12th goal of the season.
  • Then with one minute remaining in the game, Arbelaez finished a cross from Rene Rivera to net the final goal.
  • TU goalkeeper Ben Barnes made five saves in 90 minutes in goal, his third shutout in his last four appearances.
