HIALEAH, Fla. ( Oct. 13, 2023) – Florida National University’s Women’s volleyball team (6-10) capped off a tough week of competition with a 3-0 sweep of the Florida Memorial University Lions (3-7). The Lions put up a good fight through three sets, including 21 points in the third, before ultimately falling on the road. This is FNU’s first win at home this season aside from a sweep over the University of the Bahamas in exhibition play.
The Lions handed FMU a 3-0 loss in the early going of this season in dominant fashion on Sept. 9. The FMU tri-match was a showcase of pure skill for FMU, as the Lions ended their home opener with wins over FNU and Edward Waters University.

In the third and final set, FMU looked prime to extend the game after taking a 5-1 lead to start the frame. But FNU stayed the course and weathered this early run from the Lions, eventually taking the set 25-21.
