MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2024) – Florida National University’s track and field team produced a stellar showing at its second meet of the 2024 season. FNU participated in the Teon Elite Invitational hosted by St. Thomas University. The Conquistador men’s team placed third out of four teams, while the women ended the afternoon fourth out of five teams. 

In a loaded field that included St. Thomas and Lynn University, FNU had four runners place in the top four of the men’s 100M race. Trevor Moonin took the top spot with a new program record time of 10.94 followed by teammate Lucas Woodside at 11:04. Michael Carrasco Rodriguez’s time of 11:17 and Devanie Dawson’s 11:22 finish time rounded out FNU’s sweep. 

Austin Phanitdasack posted a school record in the men’s 400M hurdles and Ivan Rodriguez’s 1.87M performance in the high jump also marked a new FNU program best. Notably, cross country standout Kristian Bodden impressed in the 800M and 1500M races with ninth and sixth-place finishes, respectively. 

On the women’s side of the action, Daryl Quichimbo recorded a solid second-place finish in the 800M and a seventh-place finish in the 1500M. Christina Adams soared in the 1500M with a time of 5:13.39 to land in third. 

Notably, Prisilla Gonzalez was the lone representative for FNU in the women’s 200M and ended the race in 13th place with a time of 29.96.
