HIALEAH, Fla. (May 10, 2023) – Florida National University’s Jeremy De La Cruz and Roberto Fernandez are the first in program history to make the Continental Athletic Conference’s (CAC) Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team.
The Conquistadors were eliminated from playoff contention following two 9-5 losses to CAC foes the Fisher College Falcons and the Iowa Wesleyan University Tigers on May 6 and 7, respectively.
Catcher Jeremy De La Cruz left it all out there on the field, posting five putouts in FNU’s elimination game versus Iowa Wesleyan. The Plantation, Fla., native recorded three hits and an RBI in the loss and opened the tournament with a hit and a run against the Falcons.
Designated hitter Roberto Fernandez recorded a run and a hit in both games at the tournament and was issued a walk versus the Tigers.
