BOCA RATON, Fla. (Sept. 1, 2023) – Florida National University men’s and women’s cross country team had its first meet of the 2023 season, participating in the Florida Atlantic University Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla. This highly awaited Sept. 1 race was stacked with competition from the state of Florida, including Barry University, St. Thomas University, Stetson University and Ave Maria University.
In the men’s 5K, the Conquistadors finished 12th out of 16 teams with a score of 321. FNU’s top runner was newcomer Kristian Bodden whose time of 16:49.5 was good enough for a 36th-place finish. Notably, returner Leon Kipkoech landed in the 71st spot in the 5K, clocking in at 18:01.3.
On the women’s side of the action, FNU’s team score earned them 14th place out of 18 teams. Christina Adams led the charge for the Conquistadors, racing her way to a 51st-place finish in the 5K, ending the night with a time of 20:27.8.
