LAKE WALES, Fla. (March 29, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s tennis team (3-8) bounced back from a close loss to the College of Coastal Georgia on March 25 for a 4-0 dominant victory over Warner University (3-11). The Conquistadors recorded a strong showing in doubles play and landed two shutout wins in singles play en route to an impressive Sun Conference win in Lake Wales, Fla.
FNU pair Natalia Calvo and Fabiola Bsereni collected a 6-2 win over the Royals’ Riley Cook and Lauren Schiraldi to get things started for the Conquistadors. Nadia Abad and Vanessa Simone also had a strong showing in their match opposite Camila Matos and Keren Alves, 5-2.
Singles play saw Simone shine with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win over Schiraldi. Fellow Conquistador Celeste Deniz Reyes secured a victory by the same score versus Warner’s Davila, as FNU closed out the match on top 4-0.
