What kind of career can I pursue with a degree in Natural Sciences?
Many aspiring college students don’t readily consider enrolling in a Natural Sciences degree straight out of high school unless they know they want to pursue a career in healthcare, but there are so many other occupations that require an undergrad in Natural Sciences:

What is the best university to attend for Natural Sciences?
That all depends on your preferences.
- Where do you want to live?
- Where do you see yourself working once you’ve graduated from college?
- Exactly what kind of career do you want to pursue?
Sometimes, that alone can have everything to do with where you’ll go to college. For example, if you want to become a Hydrologist, a scientist who studies the movement of water, then you might want to get your undergrad at a university that is near the coast.
Size Matters!
Another choice that may weigh in on your decision regarding which university to attend is whether you prefer a large or small university. Some students may want to enroll in a large college and others may prefer a smaller one where professors will be able to offer more personal attention to each of their students. In larger universities, classrooms can be the size of small theaters. This could be intimidating to first-year students. This is why the size of the classroom matters.
Accreditation. That Matters Too!
Another crucial factor in selecting your university is accreditation. With so many colleges popping up, it’s more important than ever to verify if the university that interests you the most is accredited. While it’s certainly possible to get a college education from a non-accredited university, it’s not guaranteed that you’re going to be taught everything necessary to succeed in that profession because non-accredited colleges are not held accountable for their curriculum. They can pretty much design it however they like without it going through any review process that upholds to quality academic standards.
When it comes to choosing a university that is the best fit for you, take your time, do your research and above all, make sure that the curriculum offered is accredited.

Can I change my major if I don’t like it?
Of course! It’s not uncommon for students to decide after a year, or maybe even two years into a degree program, that it’s not the best fit for them. However, it’s strongly recommended to consult with your academic advisor every semester when it’s time to enroll in classes. If you’re still on the fence about pursuing a Natural Sciences degree, our advisors can recommend general courses that can easily transfer to another degree program.

Will I be eligible to apply to grad school?
If you enroll in an accredited university, then you will be eligible for federal financial aid. Other colleges may be able to provide financial aid for you, but if it’s not accredited, then they may arrange it so that you’re pulling a loan from a random bank. An accredited university’s financial aid department will not only help you to determine if you qualify for federal aid, but also any Pell Grants, and scholarships.

Exactly how many math courses are required with a Natural Science degree?
For the Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences degree at FNU, you are required to complete at least 7 credit hours of mathematics in College Algebra I and Introduction to Statistics. For elective courses, you have the option of taking more advanced Algebra classes.

I want to be a science teacher. Will I need to take a master’s program?
This really depends on what kind of teacher you want to be. Are you aspiring to become a college professor or a K-12 teacher? Whichever type of teacher you want to be, additional education is required. If you want to be a college professor, then you’ll need to pursue a master’s degree and possibly 
even a Ph.D. If you want to work as a K-12 teacher, then depending on the state you live in, you’ll have to get special certifications for the type of subject you want to teach.
