HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2023) – Florida National University’s women’s soccer standout, Johanna Andersson, grabs her first Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Offensive Player of the Week award thanks to three goals over FNU’s last two matches.
Andersson’s goal versus the Edward Waters University Tigers helped the Conquistadors execute a 2-2 draw over the NCAA DII standouts. In FNU’s tough 6-2 loss to the Florida College Falcons, she scored both of the Conquistadors’ goals, including a gorgeous, high-arching shot for long distance on Sept. 28.
The CAC’s release had this to say about Andersson’s performance.
“Andersson, the Offensive Player of the Week, scored three goals in a pair of matches for the Conquistadors. The Kungsbacka, Sweden, native found the back of the net twice in a match last Thursday against Florida College. The forward started the week by scoring a goal in FNU’s 2-2 draw against NCAA Division II Edward Waters University (Florida).”
Florida National is back on the pitch Oct. 2 versus Barry University on the road at 6 p.m.
