AVE MARIA, Fla. (March 20, 2023) – Florida National University’s men’s tennis team fell 6-1 to the No. 13 Ave Maria Gyrenes Monday. The Conquistadors got off to a stellar start after winning the doubles point but fell short in singles play for their sixth loss of the 2023 season.
FNU’s Luigi Stefanacci and David De Ayguavives delivered a 6-4 win over their AMU opponents while a 6-3 win from partners Umberto Particelli and Guido Gentile got the Conquistadors an early 1-0 lead. But in singles play, FNU fell short of the mark in all six of its matches as the home team secured a solid 6-1 win.
