HIALEAH, Fla. (Feb. 27, 2023) – Florida National’s men’s basketball team earned one selection to the Continental Athletic Conference’s All-Conference teams. Leading scorer Jovan Debrito was named to the All-Conference second team after day one of the CAC Tournament in Lawrence, Kansas.
Debrito had a stellar season for the Conquistadors, earning the first-ever CAC Player of the Week award after a 32-point performance versus CAC foe Fisher College. The Miami native had another classic during FNU’s regular season loss to the University of the Virgin Islands.
Debrito averaged a team-high 15.6 points per game on 42.6% shooting from the floor. FNU did not make the tournament this year, following a tough season of exhibition losses against NCAA Division I opponents and defeats to top-ranked NAIA schools such as RV St. Thomas.
