BOCA RATON, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2023) – Florida National University’s men’s tennis faced another early season setback versus NCAA DII Lynn University Thursday. FNU’s (0-3) 4-0 loss marks the third straight loss for FNU in 2023 and the second shutout in three matches. Lynn (2-1) got off to a great start and never let up the gas the entire match for its second win of the season.
In doubles play, the Knights claimed the opening point as FNU’s Umberto Particelli and Guido Gentile lost 1-6. Luigi Stefanacci and David De Ayguavives’s 2-6 loss was just enough to put the Knights up 1-0, as singles play was up next.
FNU’s Jerry Makela’s 2-6 loss to Knight Diego Gonzalez put the Knights in the driver’s seat leading 2-0. Jules Grignon and Particelli were the next to fall, losing their matches 1-6, 2-6 and 0-6, 3-6, respectively.
