HIALEAH, Fla. (Nov. 1, 2022) – Florida National’s women’s soccer team earned a fourth-place bid in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Soccer Championships November 10-14. Play between the four teams chosen to make the trip will take place in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The selection sets up a semi-final match-up against the number one seed in the tournament, the University of Maine Fort Kent and the Conquistadors on November 11 at 10 a.m. The Bengals are the 2019 National Champions and have made a tournament appearance every year since 2010. The 7-3-3 Bengals’ Julia Audunsdottir recorded four goals and three assists so far this year.
The Conquistadors have strung together a stellar second half of the season, defeating Florida Memorial, Florida College and Edward Waters to end the season 4-5-1 after an 0-4 start. FNU will look to continue this hot streak into postseason play against a strong field.
The two other teams that round out the competition for FNU are Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse and Mississippi University for Women.
