BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 30, 2022) – Florida National’s men’s and women’s cross country teams made their mark at the eighth annual Florida Atlantic University Home Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida, Friday evening. This was the first meet for the Conquistadors in over three weeks and FNU hopes to take this momentum into their next competition in October as they set their sights on Ave Maria University.
FNU men’s team notables: David Bellefleur had another strong race for the Conquistadors finishing second overall in the men’s 7K. His time of 23:25.0 was the fastest time for FNU’s men’s team in Boca Raton, Florida. Gabriel Rodriguez finished in 43rd place with a time of 27:14.1. FNU ended the night in seventh place.
FNU women’s team notables: Maryam Abreu was the top finisher for the FNU on the women’s side coming in at 20:24.4 for a 31st place finish. She was followed by teammate Mickaela Calisto, who finished 50th with a time of 21:58.2.
