CAC Press Release: #FNU Softball secures pitcher of the Week! Congrats to Gabryella Hay.
Florida National University Senior Gabryella Hay has earned the Continental Athletic Conference pitcher of the week award.
‘Hay went 3-0 with two complete games in three appearances last week inside the pitching circle. She went the distance in a 5-3 win against NCAA Division II Lynn University (Florida) last Tuesday. Hay came back the next day to record six strikeouts in a 7-3 win against Florida Memorial University.
Hay recorded nine strikeouts in 20 innings pitched for the week.
The Little River Academy, Texas, native helped the team win three of the four games for the week by batting .462 with six hits and driving in seven runs, and scoring six additional runs. Offensively, she went 2-for-3 and scored two runs in the win against Lynn.
Hay has posted a 16-5 record and tossed 143.2 innings among her 23 appearances this spring. She has a 3.12 earned run average, three shutouts, and two saves for FNU (24-11).’
