BOX SCORE (Game One) l BOX SCORE (Game Two)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 3, 2021) – The Florida National baseball team (11-22) dropped both games of a Saturday doubleheader at Trinity Baptist (8-15), losing the first game, 7-6, and dropping Game Two, 14-7.

In Game One, the Conquistadors jumped out to a 4-1 lead after two versus the Eagles, led by RBIs by Simon Dalmau, Sergio Rivas, and Jasiel Perez.

TBC cut into the FNU lead, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth, 4-3.

It was a four-run bottom of the sixth by the Eagles that proved to be the difference in the game.

The Conquistadors had a chance to tie the game and possibly take the lead as FNU had runners on second and third with two outs in the top of the seventh, however a ground out to the shortstop ended the contest.

Daniel Iglesias (1-1) suffered the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits in two and two-thirds innings of action.

In the game, Perez went 2-for-3 from the dish with two RBI while Jan Carlos Rodriguez hit 2-for-2 with a run scored.

In Game Two, FNU took an early 4-0 lead, scoring four runs in the top of the first with RBI-singles by Francisco Perez De Leon, Daniel Rodriguez, and Edgar Perez, and an RBI-double by Rafael Ferrara.

The Eagles used a seven-inning bottom of the second to jump out to an 8-4 lead. TBC outscored the Conquistadors 6-3 over the next three innings to make the score 14-7, eventually resulting in a loss for FNU.

Ferrara hit 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Perez De Leon went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI while Manuel Blanco scored two runs, hitting 2-for-5 in the contest.

Anthony Iglesias (1-1) was saddled with the loss, allowing four runs (all unearned) on one hit in one and two-thirds innings pitched.

The Conquistadors will next travel to Lakeland, Florida, to take on the Southeastern Fire in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
