Mary Hale once stated that “There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.” I did not know the intensity of this quote until I met one of my best advisors in the college, Dr. Rosa Hernandez. She is one of the beautiful and charming souls who always wishes the best out of the people she meets. I first met her in college, and since the first day, my life has never been the same again. She is accommodative and listens to all people regardless of their social class or background. She is never discriminative and is always ready to help as much as she could.
I joined FNU and began my bachelor’s degree in natural science. In the first days, I had some challenges, and Ms. Hernandez willingly helped me settle at the school and overcome the challenges. I attribute all my undergraduate achievements to her relentless selflessness and determination to see me succeed. She encouraged me throughout my college life and taught me never to give up on anything that I started. Her advice and encouragement did not only guide me in college but also will be a guide in my future life. Associating with her was the greatest decision I have ever made in life.
Therefore, I take this opportunity to cordially thank my mentor and advisor, Dr. Hernandez, for all that she did for me. Colleen Wilcox once stated that “A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart.” This is the true definition of Dr. Hernandez. May God bless her and give her the heart to help more people.
