HIALEAH, FL – The Florida National University women’s volleyball team earned its third win of the season, as the Conquistadors defeated Edward Waters College (25-17, 22-25, 27-25, and 25-15) at home.

FNU Highlights
- FNU was led by Maya Krapf with incredible 19 kills, and 3 service aces.
- Lina Valentino added impressive 16 kills on the game.
- Wandy Cruz had 24 digs, 2 Assists and 1 service ace.
- Carolina Arrias Dantas and Gabriela Hernandez recorded 30 and 17 assists respectively.
- Lina Valentino also killed 16-of-27 total attacks recording an impressive .519 % in kills’ percentage.

KEY MOMENT
Trailing 1-1 in the match, the Lions led 24-18 in the third set, but Maya Krapf sparked a seven-point run for the conquistadors with a kill. The seven points came on the serve of Maricielo Redhead Zuluaga, to give the lead back to the Conquistadors 25-24. Audrianna Jones tied the set again with a kill assisted by Andrea Diaz, but Tyler Scott blocked Audrianna jones in the following point to give the set point to FNU 26-25. One attacking error in the last point of the third set was enough to FNU Conquer the set. 27-25.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- FNU improved its record to 3-3 this season.
- FNU recorded its first home victory this season.
Florida National University women’s volleyball Associate Head Coach Jose Garcia said ” Edward Waters tested us tonight, but we showed resilience and finished strong in the last set. We know if we can keep our composure we can create better opportunities for ourselves like we did tonight”.
