The Class of 2018 Sonography Cohort at Florida National University just broke school history. For the first time, an entire cohort has 100% passing rate on the Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Examination (SPI.) The SPI exam is the first step in taking specialty boards for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and ensures our affiliates that our students have the technical skills/knowledge to handle all ultrasound equipment. This accomplishment did not come without its fair share of adversity: “They worked extremely hard. They scarified a lot to pass that exam, time from work, time from family. But they worked together, as a team, to accomplish this goal. I’m very proud of the work they’ve done,” says Dr. Victor Fernandez, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Technology Program Director.
