Florida National University kicked off the 2017 season in style with an impressive 4-1 in win over Savannah College of Art and Design.
Rodrigo Costa, helped the Conquistadors with an early goal in the 18th minute, with a sharp ball played across from the right side of the field played by Perdro Veiga, Rodrigo was able to fire a one touch shot pass the goal keeper. SCAD was able to get the equalizer in the 21st minute from a conner kick that caught the Conquistadors off guard. With a sustained pressure on the goal of SCAD the Conquistadors went to half time with a 2-1 lead after Nicolas Micoli scored right before half time. The pressure continued in the second half with another goal from Nicolas Micoli and assist from David Ochoa. A late goal from Marco Lacerda ended any hopes for SCAD to close the gap. The Conquistadors ended the match with a 4-1 win over SCAD.

Next up is a trip to Fort Myer Florida to face Florida Gulf Coast University (NCAA Div I) on Sunday (1:00 PM Kick off). They both met the same time last year with a 1-1 draw.
