Healthcare
It could be said that the industry of healthcare is recession-proof because of the increasing need, especially in the sunny state of Florida. A great amount of the Baby Booming population typically retires in the state of Florida, and with age, comes more medical check-ups, treatments, etc.
In the healthcare profession, you have a vast array of job opportunities, from working on the administrative side to working as a practitioner. FNU has a catalog of different programs you can earn your college degree in.
Bachelor/Master of Science

Health Services Administration –
If you are interested in managing the healthcare profession, then earning a bachelor or master’s degree in Health Services Administration is where you want to concentrate your studies. In both the bachelors and master’s degree program, you’ll be taught the business aspects of the health industry. You can think of it like a hybrid of business administration studies that’s heavily concentrated in the healthcare industry.

For a more hands-on approach, FNU offers a bachelors and master’s degree in Nursing where you’ll be building the professional skills necessary to assist medical physicians and care for patients. FNU’s Nursing degree programs are designed with a specific number of clinical hours that students must take according to the type of degree program they’re enrolled in. These degree programs are also designed to help students take the NCLEX exam to become a certified registered nurse.

Respiratory Therapy –
This degree program is a much-needed niche within the healthcare field that is quite necessary. As breathing is essential to human life, the role of a Respiratory Therapist is critical and most important. In this degree program, students will specialize in lung and breathing health. Students enrolled in this program will also be prepared to earn the national RRT credential that’s awarded by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Associate of Science
FNU awards associate degrees in the school of science. These associate degrees can take up to two years to complete, but may take longer for part-time students.

Medical Assistant Technology –
Getting an associate’s degree in Medical Assistant Technology will allow students to work alongside practicing physicians and Certified Registered Nurses. Depending on the size of the healthcare facility, a person working in this particular job position can expect to perform administrative tasks like greeting patients, completing the preliminary paperwork, answering phones, managing billing and bookkeeping, and even post follow-up procedures of explaining prescription medications and diets to them.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Technology –
This degree is specifically designed to train students about imaging. After completing this program, students will become a professional ultrasound technologist who will be able to perform sonographic procedures imaging and evaluating groups of muscles, joints, tendons, and nerves.

Dental Laboratory Technology –
Students who pursue an associate’s degree in the field of dentistry at FNU will have acquired the necessary skills and training needed to assists dentists with patients in the way of creating crowns, bridges, and dentures. Very similar to Medical Assistant Technology, the Dental Laboratory Technician’s job duties will vary depending on the size of the healthcare facility. Responsibilities may also involve administrative work.

If you prefer a little more action in the legal field, then perhaps what you might want to study is Criminal Justice. Just as important as a degree in Legal Studies, the Associates of Arts in Criminal Justice focuses on training students about the law, but also prepares them for entry-level law enforcement careers.
