Why is that?
Well, according to the United State Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the state of Florida tends to be the place where most of the Baby Boomers come to retire. Unfortunately, with age often comes the need for more healthcare services. Another thing that needs to be taken into account is the increasing population in the South Florida area due to migration.
Many people migrate to the United States and settle in the South Florida area. The Pew Research Center noted that a total of 46,635 Cubans entered the United States in 2016 according to Customs and Border Protection that was collected through a public records request. This may not seem like a big number but when you consider the future, Pew stated that the “Fiscal year 2015 was a surge year and was up 78% over 2014, when 24,278 Cubans entered the U.S. And those 2014 numbers had already increased dramatically after the Cuban government lifted travel restrictions that year. These totals are significantly higher than in all of fiscal 2011, when 7,759 Cubans came into the U.S.”
So what are we trying to say here?
A lot of people move to Florida and the numbers are steadily increasing!
While some come to visit and others stay, one thing remains, the ones who stay will eventually need healthcare. And with that demand, it must be provided—and it is, through education and jobs.
Next is Computer Science
There is simply no way of getting around it. In some way, shape, or form, you’ll have to confront technology. Even without an education, you’re going to have to be comfortable using it if you want your everyday life to be easier. It may be hard to find a business that exists successfully without it. But if you choose to narrow down your area of expertise in either of these occupations, you won’t have much trouble finding job openings in the South Florida area.
The Power of Networking Near Your Alma Mater
There are several thriving entrepreneurs living in the South Florida area. Many of them have benefited from gaining a quality education in the same area. There are benefits to attending a college in the same area you want to plant your career.
