MIAMI — On behalf of the Board of Governors of the Dr. Jose Regueiro Foundation and the Board of Governors of Florida National University Nursing Division, a scholarship has been established in honor of state Representative Daphne Campbell and her relentless efforts in the nursing community.
The Daphne Campbell Nursing Scholarship is to be awarded to a nursing student at Florida National University.
The “Voice of the Voiceless” Representative Campbell this legislative session has made her voice heard and making history by introducing bills for nurses, nurse practitioners, and foreign- trained physicians.
Representative Campbell, a practicing Registered Nurse herself is overjoyed with news of the scholarship.
“I couldn’t be more proud, I have strived for excellence in my community and this scholarship allows future nurses an opportunity they might not have been able to afford themselves,” Campbell said. “For many, all they need is that one opportunity and I am blessed and grateful that I am able to gift them that opportunity.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly send your way kudos and accolades for your conscientious efforts and for being the voice of those that would otherwise would not be heard in Tallahassee,” said President and CEO of Florida National University, Dr. Maria Cristina Regueiro. “Unequivocally, you are making history with all the bills you are introducing for Nurses, Nurses Practitioners and Foreign Physicians! God bless you for your tenacious work on behalf of the citizen in the State of Florida.”
