Mr. Oscar de Cárdenas is a Florida National University (FNU). He started his post-secondary journey with FNU in June of 2013. He is currently working on finishing his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Recently, he wrote a letter to FNU President/CEO, Dr. Maria C. Regueiro, praising the institution, its faculty and staff. With his permission, we are publishing his letter. Please take a minute to read it. It is an excellent example of what happens when an institution lives up to its mission statement.
Mrs. Regueiro:
I have the pleasure of being a current student in FNU for the past 15 months. I have put a lot of hard work, effort and time in my studies and can proudly say that I currently have a 4.0 GPA. My hard work and effort would not matter much if my professors were not as excellent as they have been. They have always been available and ready to guide me whenever I encountered any obstacles.
Besides my praise to the instructors, I do have to personally mention two employees that have been very helpful to me and have given me peace of mind through my studies. The first one is Javier Dominguez, Financial Aid officer. He has helped me look for various alternatives to fit my specific economic needs, and he has gone the extra mile to help me stay enrolled. Thanks, Mr. Dominguez.
The other is Mr. Luigi Valdivieso. I met Luigi at an event at the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce where we both engaged in a professional partnership. After a few conversations, I expressed to Luigi my interest in completing my Bachelors degree, and he guided me through the process of admissions and enrolling. He was there through my first set of classes making sure that everything was going OK. We still speak regularly, and I consider him a good friend. Thanks, Luigi.
I write to you because I know how important it is to know that you have good people working for you and putting the FNU name high every day.
Thanks,
Oscar de Cárdenas
