HIALEAH, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2024) – Florida National University’s Yordangel Gonzalez posted nine hits and a batting average of .500 in a split four-game series to take home the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Hitter of the Week award. Gonzalez shined in FNU’s contests versus the Fisher College Falcons en route to three RBIs.
“Gonzalez, the Hitter of the Week, batted .500 and registered nine hits as the Conquistadors split a four-game series against CAC member Fisher College (Massachusetts) last weekend,” the CAC’s release said.
“The infielder went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in an 18-14 loss in the second game of Saturday’s action. He also tallied three hits, including a double, in the series finale.”
